In 1986 Dr Trish Moloney and Dr David Sawdon started Samford Valley Medical Centre in what was the old Post Office building.

In 1990 David left Samford to work exclusively in Dayboro, and Trish became a solo-GP in Samford. Shortly after Trish moved across the road to the Corner of Station and Main St.

In 2006 the 2 consultation room premise expanded into a 4 consultation room surgery.

Shortly after Samford Valley Medical became a GP training practice - helping to develop the next generation of GPs in the region.

In subsequent years the practice has gained additional GPs, as well as nursing staff and counselling services.

In 2015 the practice moved to a completely renovated premises at 26 Station St, Samford.

Dr Trish retired in 2023 after serving the Samford community for over 30 years

10 years after moving to Station Street, Dr Michelle Ledbury took over ownership of SVMC.
