Our History
Samford Valley Medical Centre has been part of the Samford community for nearly four decades.
In 1986, Dr Trish Moloney and Dr David Sawdon founded the original Samford Valley Medical Centre in what was once the old Samford Post Office.
In 1990, Dr Sawdon moved to practise exclusively in Dayboro, and Dr Trish Moloney continued as Samford’s solo GP. Soon after, she relocated the practice across the road to the corner of Station and Main Street, where it became a familiar and trusted part of village life.
By 2006, the small two-room surgery expanded to four consultation rooms to meet the growing needs of the community.
In 2015, Samford Valley Medical Centre moved into a purpose-built and fully renovated premises at 26 Station Street, offering modern facilities while maintaining the same warm, family-centred care.
After 37 years of dedicated service, Dr Trish retired in 2023, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion, continuity, and community.
In 2025, Dr Michelle Ledbury took ownership of the practice from the Moloney family, continuing its proud tradition of being GP-owned, community-focused, and committed to whole-person care for Samford and the surrounding districts.
